This low sodium Fish with Ginger Sauce recipe is quick, easy, and flavorful. Use our no-sodium soy sauce substitute recipe to avoid additional sodium while adding a nice flavor to the sauce.
- 1 lb swordfish or cod filets, thawed, rinsed, and well drained
- 3 tsp vegetable oil or sesame seed oil, divided
- 2 Tbsp garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp fresh ginger, minced, graded,OR canned ground ginger
- 2 Tbsp no-sodium soy sauce substitute (see recipe)
- 2 Tbsp sherry or dry white wine (Do not use cooking win; it has salt added to the wine)
- In a small bowl, stir together the garlic, ginger, no-sodium soy sauce substitute, sherry or wine, and 1 teaspoon of the oil. Set aside.
- Preheat to medium high a skillet large enough to hold all of the fish filets without overlapping
- Add the oil and swirl to coat the skillet bottom
- Add the fish filets. Cook on medium high for 3 minutes without turning.
- Reduce heat to medium. Turn the fish filets and pour the sauce over them. Cook uncovered 2-5 minutes on medium heat until fish is opaque and separates easily with a fork. (exact time will depend on the thickness of the filets.)
- Spoon the sauce over the fish when serving.
