Add onions, celery, and carrots and saut\u00e9 for several minutes until vegetables begin to brown, stirring occasionally.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add garlic and tomato paste and stir to combine. Cook, stirring often, for 2-3 minutes or until the paste begins to turn a darker color.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add remaining ingredients and 4 quarts of water. Bring to a simmer and then reduce heat until the surface is just barely bubbling.
