This is a very fast, easy recipe.
- 1½ lb very lean ground beef
- 1 can low sodium tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- ¼ cup no-salt ketchup
- 2 cans no-salt black beans, drained and rinsed
- (optional) 1 cup frozen corn kernels.
- ½ cup no salt beef broth
- 1 can no-salt-added tomatoes (whole or diced)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- Heat a large pot to medium high and add olive oil. Add the ground beef and onions, lower heat to medium, and saute until meat is brown.
- Add all of the other ingredients. Bring to simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
Note that sodium percentages depend on which daily reference you use. The estimated 71mg of sodium per serving implies that one serving of this recipe provides:
