Slow-Cooker Italian Tomato Sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 small green pepper, chopped
- 4 baby carrots, chopped
- (optional) Additional chopped vegetables as desired (zucchini, mushrooms, ...)
- ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp. minced garlic
- 4 cans no-salt-added tomatoes
- 1 small can low-sodium tomato paste (8oz)
- 1 small can low-sodium tomato sauce (8oz)
- 1 ½ cup water
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 ½ Tbsp Mrs Dash Italian Seasoning
- Saute the onion, carrots, and green pepper (and other optional vegetables) for about 4 minutes.
- Mix all ingredients well in a crock pot.
- Cook on low 12 hours. (or 1 hour high, then 9-10 hours low).
Serving size: ½ cup. Sodium: very low.
