Slow-Cooker Italian Tomato Sauce
Serves: 16.
 
Ingredients
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 4 baby carrots, chopped
  • (optional) Additional chopped vegetables as desired (zucchini, mushrooms, ...)
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. minced garlic
  • 4 cans no-salt-added tomatoes
  • 1 small can low-sodium tomato paste (8oz)
  • 1 small can low-sodium tomato sauce (8oz)
  • 1 ½ cup water
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 ½ Tbsp Mrs Dash Italian Seasoning
Instructions
  1. Saute the onion, carrots, and green pepper (and other optional vegetables) for about 4 minutes.
  2. Mix all ingredients well in a crock pot.
  3. Cook on low 12 hours. (or 1 hour high, then 9-10 hours low).
