No Salt Breakfast Sausage 3

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef, pork, or turkey
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp ground sage OR 2 tsp rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme powder
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ cup cold water
Instructions
  1. Place the fennel seed in a plastic bag and pound them a few times so they are lightly crushed (or put on a cutting board and finely chop with a sharp knife).
  2. Put all ingredients except the ground meat in a small bowl and stir until well mixed.
  3. Sprinkle the seasoning mix on the ground meat and mix well. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight before cooking.
  4. To freeze: make into patties, separate each patty with plastic wrap or freezer paper, and freeze in a freezer bag.
  5. To cook: Form the sausage into thin patties or break into chunks. Cook in a medium-high skillet until cooked through with no pink remaining.
