Chili Mac
Serves: 8
 
Ingredients
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb very lean ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey
  • ¼ cup low sodium tomato paste
  • 1 can no-salt-added diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup no-salt beef broth
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp Mrs Dash Steak Grilling Seasoning blend.
  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni.
  • ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
  1. Heat a large heavy sauce pan to medium and add the olive oil. Saute the onions until tender. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Add the ground beef, stir to break it into small pieces, and cook until the beef is browned and completely cooked through. Drain.
  3. Add the tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, chili powder, and Mrs Dash Steak Grilling Seasoning. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Add the macaroni and mix well. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and cover. Cook 7-10 minutes, until the macaroni are cooked al dente.
  5. When the macaroni have cooked, add cheese.Turn the heat off, put a lid on the sauce pan, and let it rest for about 5 minutes to melt the cheese.)
