Basic Meatballs
Serves: 8

Ingredients
  • 1½ lb ground beef (or ground chicken or turkey if you prefer)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about ½ cup) OR 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • ¾ cup quick cooking oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 tsp Mrs Dash Steak Seasoning mix
  • 1 Tbsp low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup skim milk
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except the olive oil. Shape by rounded tablespoons into balls.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the meatballs in the olive oil over medium high heat for about 20 minutes until the meatballs are fully cooked with no pink in the middle.
  3. Serve with your choice of sauce.
If desired, these meatballs can be frozen for later use:
  1. To use the frozen meatballs without using a slow cooker, let the meatballs thaw completely in the refrigerator. Then place them in a sauce pan with 2-3 cups of your choice of sauce and heat until the meatballs are hot throughout, occasionally stirring very gently.
  2. To use the frozen meatballs in a slow cooker, pour frozen meatballs into a slow cooker, cover with 2-3 cups of your choice of sauce. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
