Fruit Crisp for Peaches, Apples, or Pears
- 4 cups apples, peaches, or pears (pitted and sliced)
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose or whole wheat flour
- ½ cup quick cooking or old-fashioned oats
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg (for peaches) OR ¾ tsp cinnamon and ¾ tsp nutmeg (for apples or pears)
- Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray bottom and sides of an 8 x 8 casserole dish or baking pan with cooking spray.
- Mix ¼ cup of the brown sugar and ½ of the spices. Combine with the sliced fruit, stirring to evenly coat the fruit.
- Place the fruit mixture in the baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix together all remaining ingredients. Crumble this topping evenly on top of the fruit mixture.
- Bake in pre-heated oven for about 30 minutes, until fruit is bubbly and tender and topping is golden brown.
