Creamy Macaroni and Cheese
Serves: 10.
 
Ingredients
  • 1½ cups macaroni, uncooked
  • ½ tsp Mrs Dash Original Blend seasoning, divided
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • ¼ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 4 oz no-salt swiss cheese (cubed, sliced, or shredded)
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese (cubed, sliced, or shredded)
Instructions
  1. Cook macaroni as directed on page, al dente, adding ½ tsp Mrs Dash Original Blend seasoning to the water as it cooks. After it cooks, drain the macaroni and rinse in warm water.
  2. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan. Saute the onions for 3 minutes. Then stir in the flour until well blended. Add ¼ tsp Mrs Dash Original Blend seasoning and skim milk. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add the swiss cheese and sharp cheddar cheese and stir until completely melted and well blended. Mix the cheese mixture with the macaroni and pour into the baking dish. (At this point you can refrigerate it for several hours or overnight if you wish.)
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until bubbly. (If you refrigerated it first, add 10-15 minutes to the baking time.)
