Asian-Style Orange Sauce

This no sodium Asian-style orange sauce is great as a marinade and sauce for chicken, fish, or pork.

Asian-Style Orange Sauce
Serves: 20
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup no-salt chicken broth
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce substitute (see recipe) or low sodium Worcestershire
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp Mrs. Dash Chicken Grilling Seasoning blend
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper
  • ¼ tsp ginger
  • ⅛ tsp pepper
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. To use as a marinade: combine chicken, fish, or pork and some of the marinade. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, mixing occasionally. Drain the meat from the marinade, discarding the marinade and cook.
  3. To use as a sauce: Heat remaining marinade in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir in 2 tbsp. cornstarch combined with 2 tbsp. water. Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened about 1-2 minutes; keep warm until serving on cooked chicken, fish, or pork.
