This delicious low-sodium taco meat can be made with ground beef, pork, chicken, or turkey. The recipe uses our no-salt Mexican seasoning mix . If you use any other Mexican seasoning or taco seasoning, make sure that it is salt-free.
- 1 lb lean ground meat (beef, pork, chicken, or turkey)
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Mexican seasoning (see recipe)
- ½ tsp cilantro
- 1 tsp lime juice
- ½ cup no-sodium chicken broth (or beef broth)
- In a large skillet heated to medium high, brown the ground meat, onion, and garlic. Stir in the remaining ingredients, heat to boiling, and then reduce heat and simmer until the liquid is mostly gone.
