- 1 lb lean ground meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 2 cups mushrooms (any variety), sliced
- 2 Tbsp fresh chopped basil OR 2 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp Mrs Dash Steak Seasoning blend
- ½ cup no sodium beef broth
- 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar OR Marsala wine
- 2 Tbsp no sodium Worcestershire sauce substitute OR low sodium Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Heat a large non-stick skillet to medium-high heat. Cook ground meat for 8-10 minutes until no pink remains in the middle, breaking the meat into crumbles with spatula. Drain, remove from skillet, and set aside
- Add the olive oil to the skillet and cook the garlic and onion for 2-3 minutes. Add mushrooms and continue to cook for 5 more minutes.
- Return the cooked meat to the skillet. Stir in the basil, Mrs Dash, broth, vinegar (or wine), and Worcestershire sauce. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Then reduce heat and simmer until the liquid has reduced, about 6 minutes, continuing to stir occasionally.
