This is a very easy 1-pot chili mac casserole
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb very lean ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey
- ¼ cup low sodium tomato paste
- 1 can no-salt-added diced tomatoes
- 1 cup no-salt beef broth
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 Tbsp chili powder
- ½ tsp Mrs Dash Steak Grilling Seasoning blend.
- 1 cup uncooked macaroni.
- ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- Heat a large heavy sauce pan to medium and add the olive oil. Saute the onions until tender. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add the ground beef, stir to break it into small pieces, and cook until the beef is browned and completely cooked through. Drain.
- Add the tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, chili powder, and Mrs Dash Steak Grilling Seasoning. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the macaroni and mix well. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and cover. Cook 7-10 minutes, until the macaroni are cooked al dente.
- When the macaroni have cooked, add cheese.Turn the heat off, put a lid on the sauce pan, and let it rest for about 5 minutes to melt the cheese.)
