The follow is a list of several low-sodium marinade options:
Asian Marinade with green chilies: 1 cup rice vinegar, 2 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp fresh mint, 1 tsp lemongrass, 1 small can green chilies.
Asian Marinade with chives: 1 cup sherry vinegar, sprinkle of chives, 1 Tbsp brown sugar.
Asian Marinade with ginger: ¼ cup lemon or lime juice, 1 cup sesame oil, 1 Tbsp fresh ginger.
Fruit Marinade: 1 cup orange juice, ¼ cup apricot jam, 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar, 1 Tbsp dried rosemary leaves, pinch of black pepper
Greek Marinade: 1 cup Greek yogurt thinned with 1 tsp water or lemon juice, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp mint, 1 tsp marjoram, chopped garlic to taste.
Italian Marinade: 1 cup balsamic vinegar, ½ cup honey, ½ cup fresh basil leaves (or 1 Tbsp dried basil), pinch of black pepper
Tandoori Marinade: 2 cups Greek yogurt thinned with 2 tsp. water or lemon juice, 2 Tbsp curry powder, fresh ginger.
